It was late August 2010, a warm summer evening in Cambridge, Massachusetts. David Gergen had just walked by when I said “I really think we should sell the house.” JoJami reacted with a flicker of hesitation and then quickly switched to her “I wanna be in on it” mode – what did I do to deserve this woman for the past 25 years? Seven months have passed and here we are, driving Ms. Bessie in the USA.
You two are the best possible match—one definitely made in heaven! I share your wanderlust and would love to do what you’re doing. My four trips across the continent on two wheels and one trip to Alaska and back on two wheels pales in comparison to actually LIVING in all the places that call to you. I pass through most places, enjoying the scenery and meeting locals in the B&Bs and Mom-and-Pop restaurants, occasionally staying a few days in a place that deserves closer examination. But to have a Bessie available must be the best possible way to go (and stay and go again).
Good for you to take not only the road less traveled, but all the other roads, too, and to stop along the way to get a taste of every part of the places that draw you in. How I wish I could tag along in that little Mini (I adore Mini’s!).

God smiled on me when I met JoJami. We are blessed to share our interest in adventure and have the means to accomplish it!
