A trifecta night for JoJami’s family!

7 Dec

Bessie is back on the road again!  We’re heading south for a few months in Florida.  On the way, we stopped in Hickory, NC to visit JoJami’s father and step-mother, Dorothy.  They have a super community theater in Hickory and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas was showing.  It just so happens that Dorothy was playing the part of the innkeeper and WHOA, did she blow my doors off!!!  I knew she could dance, sing and act but I’d never seen her on stage in the 26 years I’ve known her and as I watched I couldn’t help thinking “who IS that woman?”  She was fantastic and really lifted the show to another level.  Here’s a link to a you tube video – Dorothy begins at 1:50 and she’s the one in the red wig.  Here she is after the show.

Kudos to my mother-in-law!

On the same night of Dorothy’s performance,JoJami’s sister & brother-in-law, Janeen & Michael Damian’s film  A Christmas Princess premiered on the Hallmark channel.  It stars Sir Roger Moore and other fabulous English actors.  It took first place in the ratings beating the likes of Harry Potter and The Hangover!  It’s a wonderful family film and it runs weekly through the holidays so check out the Hallmark listings for times.  Here’s Michael and Janeen.

It was a trifecta for the family as we got to see a pre-production cut of my father-in-law’s remake of the cult classic Killer Shrews that he shot as a favor for a friend back in the late ’50’s.  Here’s a link to the trailer for Return of the Killer Shrews.  Here’s James Best.

You might remember him as Rosco P. Coltrane from The Dukes of Hazzard.  As you can see, the talent and good looks reside on JoJami’s side.  But can any of them drive a 38′ motorcoach?

What a fun blog! Found your site on accident, I was actually looking up James Best–your father-in-law. My husband and I have talked about traveling the country someday. It would be great to explore the U.S. at our leisure. If you’re ever in Arkansas, there is an awesome cave/cabin called the Longbow Resort in the Ozark Mountains that is worth visiting. Not sure if you could get the RV up there though:)
