JoJami is always going to yoga and always talking to the people there! She asked a guy for a good place to bike ride and he said “you have to go to Shark Valley but don’t expect to see any sharks.” So, we went. There was a very bossy Park Ranger lady that wagged her finger at me and said I needed to take more drinking water. So, I did. Well, we’d barely begun our 15 mile loop into the Everglades when we came face-to-face with a very large alligator.
The big guy is about 10 feet long. He looks full, thank goodness!
Now, this was a really beautiful setting with a small stream running next to the bike path. We must have seen at least 100 alligators during the first half of the ride. Many of them used the bike path as a sun lounge.
This guy was only a 6 footer – I coulda handled him easily. (Thanks to the biker lady who was brave enough to confront the business end of that gator to take this picture!)
If you look closely, you can see the little baby gator in the lower left corner of this picture:
I probably pushed the envelope a bit on this pic!
We made it out of Shark Valley without so much as a scratch. It was a fun way to get some exercise off the Tamiami Trail in the Everglades!
Rico!!
Wow.. You are brave like a photojournalist taking that close up of the baby gator with her mommy!!
All in the name of Art!!!
